Step 1: Register with Teaching Nomad HERE
When you register with Teaching Nomad, you’ll be contacted by your dedicated personal placement consultant (a westerner already in China) who will be there to help you every step of the way!
Step 2: Teaching (TESOL/TEFL) Certification
Working with our TESOL training partner Global English (certified by ACTDEC) you will need to complete the TEFL Premier course to meet and exceed the minimum 120 hours of ESL training required by our partner schools. This course will cover the practical elements of teaching; like classroom management (group work and pair work, discipline, correction and classroom sensitivity) as well as the key theories needed for teaching the basic skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing.
Step 3: Choose your job
Once you have completed your TESOL training, we here at Teaching Nomad will help you to seal the deal and connect you with a school in an area that you prefer. The majority of available positions for beginners are working with children ages three to 10. After a successful Skype interview the school will offer you a one-year teaching contract!
