  • English First in Xi'an >

    About the city: Xi’an is the capital of Shaanxi province, located in the southern part of the Guanzhong Plain in central China. Xi'an is one of the Four Great Ancient Capitals of China, having held the position under several of the most important dynasties in Chinese history. Xi'an is also the starting point of the Silk Road and home to the Terracotta Army.

    Climate: Xi’an has pleasant weather all year round with an average temperature of 24 °C. The coldest month is January (around 0°C), which is cool and dry. The summers can also be dry with moderate rain.

    Housing: A 1 bedroom apartment in the city center is around 1000-1500. A 1 bedroom outside the center will run you around 700-1000. For 3 bedrooms in the city center, roughly costs 4000+ and outside the city center, around 1500+.

    Food: Meals in inexpensive restaurants will set you back 15rmb. In a mid-range restaurant, a three course meal for 2 can cost you up to 110rmb. Try this: Hang Bang Cai, DongPo Pork and West Lake Fish in Sweet and Sour Sauce.

    Transportation: Local transportation fare is 2 rmb for a 1 way ticket. Taxi fares start from 11rmb.

    About the city: Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang province, is located in southeast China. It is positioned on the lower reaches of Qiantang River and the southern end of the Grand Canal (Beijing- Hangzhou). It is only 180 kilometers from Shanghai (1 hour by train) and it is one of the most popular cities in China for its history, culture and beautiful sceneries.

    Climate: Hangzhou is picturesque all year round despite its distinct four seasons. It is characterized as warm and humid with a decent amount of sunshine and a lot of rain. Spring and autumn are the seasons with the most pleasant weather. In summer, the temperature can be high up to 29 degrees. It can cool down to just above zero during the winter months, but the cold is nothing compared to Northern China.

    Housing: A 1 bedroom apartment in the city center is around 3000-3250. A 1 bedroom outside the center will run you around 1500-1700. A 3-bedroom apartment in the city center, roughly costs 6000+ and outside the city center, around 3500+.

    Food: A meal in an inexpensive restaurants costs as little as 10 rmb. In a mid-range restaurant, a three course meal for 2 can cost you up to 110rmb.Try this: Hang Bang Cai, DongPo Pork and West Lake Fish in Sweet andSour Sauce.

    About the city: Tianjin is one of the four municipalities in China. It is located in the northern part of China and southeast of Beijing. It is the largest city in northern China bordering on the Bohai Sea in the east. In terms of population, it is the fourth largest in China after Shanghai Beijing and Guangzhou. Tianjin shares a grand historical background; it was a county town in the Qing Dynasty which was turned into a trading port after the attack by the Anglo-French aggressor troops 1860 and the city was shared by nine countries. Nowadays, Tianjin is the center for foreign trade and science technology of socialist.

    Climate: Tianjin has a semi-moist continental monsoon climate Tianjin has a four clear divided seasons. It shares a semi-moist continental monsoon climate which prevails all year round.

    Housing: 1 bedroom in the city center is around 2,600. A 1 bedroom outside the center will run you about 1,500+. For 3 bedrooms in the city center, roughly 4,100+ and outside the city center, 2,900+.

    Food: A meal in an inexpensive Chinese restaurant will only cost you around 18 rmb. Try this: Goubuli (Steamed stuffed bun), Ma hua (Fried dough twist)

    Transportation: Local transportation fare is 2.00 rmb for a 1 way ticket. Taxi fares start at 8 rmb.

    Basic Qualifications

    ✔ A genuine interest in teaching and education 1+year teaching experience, preferably in EFL or ESL

    ✔ A professional teaching license or a degree in education

    ✔ Native English speaker

    ✔ Passport issued by an English-speaking country

    ✔ Enthusiasm, positive attitude, willingness to learn, good team spirit & investment in student success

    ✔ Aged 24-55 (due to China working visa requirements)

    ✔ No criminal record

    Preferred Qualifications

    ✔ Internationally recognized TEFL or TESOL certification

    ✔ Experience traveling internationally and/or working abroad
