Job Summary & Responsibilities

About the contract:
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday 
  • Salary: Competitive Base Salary
  • Flight reimbursement

Job specifications:
  • To work initially as part of a team of four (2 Overseas specialists; 2 Chinese specialists) under the guidance of the Deputy Director Primary.
  • To research thoroughly the Chinese National Curriculum at pre-school and elementary levels including observing typical classroom teaching at these levels.
  • To write and revise schemes of work for lower and upper elementary age groups to enable the Chinese National Curriculum requirements to be met via a team teaching structure involving Chinese and Overseas staff.
  • To design and deliver a training programme featuring the best aspects of modern age-related pedagogy and deliver theory sessions to complement teaching placements.
  • To liaise regularly with the new schools in which teaching placements have been arranged for teacher trainees.
  • To provide specific English language training relevant to classroom management.
  • To monitor and assess the progress of teachers.
  • To provide support and ‘on-the-job’ training as required for elementary teachers within the new schools
  • To be involved in the future recruitment of Chinese teacher trainees.
  • To input as required to responses to consultancy initiatives which may arise in other Elementary schools

About you 
  • Bachelors’ degree or above, candidates with appropriate teaching qualifications are essential;
  • A minimum four years teaching experience at elementary and/or KG level
  • Candidates must be bilingual English and Chinese and have a strong knowledge of Chinese curriculum; Chinese candidates welcome to apply
  • Patient, reliable, responsible, detailed-oriented;
  • Good team player with excellent communication skills
