High School ESL & Social Science Teacher (US Curriculum)
Job Summary & Responsibilities
Teachers will be teaching at a Chinese high school located in the suburbs of Shanghai. This school enrolls students from grades 10 & 11. For grade 12, the students will attend their sister school in California. This school is looking for teachers to be an influential part of the students’ lives. For many of the students, the teachers will be their introduction to American culture and academics. Our client is looking for an individual that will be willing to interact with students and act as a role model.
About the position:
Schedule: M-F, 8:00am 4:30pm
Location: Minhang District, Shanghai (near Dongchuan station line 5)
Maximum Teaching Hours: 24 periods/week (50 min/period)
Teaching according to the educational needs, abilities, and achievement of the students
Supervise the evening study class once per week
Promote the general growth and well-being of your students
22,000 RMB - 30,000 RMB before tax per month
Housing stipend/On campus housing
Comprehensive Medical insurance
Paid holidays: Chinese government holidays, winter and summer holidays
Tuition can be discussed
Legal work visa
Native English Language speaker
2 years of relevant classroom teaching experience
Bachelor’s degree or masters degree in education or related subject required
Teaching license preferred but not a must
AP Teaching experience preferred
Age required: 28 – 60
An individual with a sense of responsibility and duty with an understanding of the influence teachers have on young adults
Outgoing and energetic personality
Some understanding of Chinese culture and experience teaching abroad proffered
