Secondary English and Business Teacher


Our client North American (campus)  is a subsidiary of the China campuses, which operates the largest network of international schools in China.  In 2017, the school's Canada's school campus entered into an agreement with Kwantlen Polytechnic University to open a high school within its Richmond campus.  The school program blends the best of Chinese and Canadian educational practice as students complete requirements towards both BC and Chinese high school diplomas.

 Teaching Duties:

  • Effectively managing classrooms and supervise students
  •  Providing quality classroom instruction using a variety of teaching strategies
  • Preparing plans including course overviews, unit plans and lesson plans
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to develop and share instructional materials
  • Using a variety of formative and summative assessments
  • Fulfilling professional duties in a timely manner
  • Contributing to a strong school culture
  • Presenting a professional manner and a positive role model for students
  •  Demonstrating flexibility in dealing with the changing demands as conditions dictate
About the contract:
  • Contract: 2 year
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday (25 hours per week)
  • Salary: Competitive salary starting at $53,000 CAD/year ( based on experience and qualifications)

Minimum qualifications:
  • Must have a British Columbia Teaching License
  • Degree in Education (recent education graduates welcome to apply)
  • 12 weeks, unpaid student practicum required 
  • Native English Speaker
  • Canadian passport required 
  • Experience with British Columbia Curriculum preferred
  • Experience teaching secondary English and Business is preferred
