Established in 2014, our client has been very well received within the local community and is quickly expanding to a full K-12 school. They offer an American curriculum program within the framework of traditional Islamic values catering primarily to Emirati students.. The school is committed to providing every student with the opportunity to achieve educational success.

They follow the U.S. common core curriculum for English and Math, next generation science standards and the Virginia Curriculum for all other subjects. This is complemented with full provision for lessons in Arabic, Islamic studies (for Muslim students) and UAE Social Studies to meet local education requirements.

The school offers a well-rounded range of facilities including libraries, computer suites, gymnasium, art rooms, science laboratories, media rooms, sports field, audio & video recording studios.

Our client is looking for teachers, and leaders that want a challenge and want to develop themselves as an educator. The school Principal is absolutely committed to professional development and helping all of his staff reach their potential. They need teachers with strong classroom management skills and determination to get through to students that need extra support.

Based in Abu Dhabi and located near the International Airport (about 30 minutes from the Abu Dhabi city Beach). Faculty housing is provided about 20 minutes away with free (optional) transportation provided.

Position description:

The Assistant Executive Principal role is a combination of academic leadership and director of operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in three core areas: Gathering and evaluating data, leading school administrators on instructional initiatives, and managing finance and budget related matters.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Evaluation of data for individual student and organization performance
  • Curriculum improvements
  • Instructional initiatives
  • Negotiation with vendors
  • Staff performance evaluations
  • Managing budgets  
About the contract
  • Contract: 3 year, renewable
  • Schedule: Sunday - Thursday 
  • Salary of 25 - 30K AED/month (tax free)
  • Annual airfare for teacher (not dependents)
  • Furnished Studio apartment provided or 60K AED annual housing allowance
  • Minimum 8 weeks paid annual leave + all national holidays
  • End of service bonus approximately 1 month per year worked
  • Work Visa provided - in UAE fees covered for employee (not dependents) 
  • Insurance provided for employee (not dependents) - but school strongly suggests you purchase travel insurance because your health coverage will take a month or more to activate (this is quite affordable)
  • Tuition benefit: Free for first child, 50% discount for second
About you 
  • Masters or PhD required
  • Administrator certificate/license or minimum four years leadership/admin experience
  • Experience teaching American curriculum is required
  • Minimum of 10 years teaching + leadership experience
  • Classroom experience at MS/HS level
  • Experience with UAE/MENA region students preferred
  • Under 60 years old due to visa requirements
