Hello, adventurers! Are you already envisioning your next grand getaway? We sure are! And guess what? Planning for next year just got a whole lot easier because the UAE public holidays for 2025 have been officially announced. One of the many benifits of teaching in the UAE is the number of holidays, both school and public, that are given and the travel opportunities this represents. Get ready to mark your calendars for some well-deserved time off!
In the UAE, 2025 will have a minimum of 12 public holidays on the horizon. And if Ramadan lasts 30 days, as it did in 2024, you might even enjoy an extra day off.
The early unveiling of the UAE public holidays for 2025 came in May through the UAE’s official gazette after a thorough review of federal laws in the constitution. This proactive approach sets the stage for a smoother planning process and gives us something to look forward to next year.
What’s more, a new resolution, as part of UAE Cabinet Resolution No.27 of 2024, introduces changes in how certain public holidays will be announced starting next year. If a holiday falls on a weekend, a Cabinet decision could carry it to the beginning or end of the week, giving you that coveted long weekend. While this special treatment excludes Eid Al Fitr and Eid Al Adha, it opens up the possibility of enjoying an extra day off when a public holiday coincides with a Saturday or Sunday.
This resolution, influenced by reviews of labor relations, human resources, and public holidays, will officially kick in on Wednesday, January 1, 2025.
While exact dates for some holidays are dependent on moon sightings, we do have a lineup of confirmed occasions to look forward to. Drumroll, please!
