Brett Isis
Founder & President
Brett is an entrepreneur originally from Colorado. He brings with him many years of professional experience in different fields including both human resources & recruiting. He handles much of the day-to-day operations and business development at Teaching Nomad. Brett also lived in Shanghai for five years before opening TN’s Denver office in 2016.
Brendan Allen
Director of Recruitment
Brendan grew up in Colorado, and he has traveled to 11 other countries. His passions include travel, golf, and coaching sports. In his final year of school, Brendan began working for the CU Boulder study abroad office where he found his passion for international education, which eventually brought him to Teaching Nomad.
Moira McNally
Senior Placement Consultant
Moira grew up just outside of Philadelphia and after university, she moved to Shanghai where she stayed for three years. Her time abroad has forever changed her, which is why she finds so much joy in her work as a recruiter. In her free time, she enjoys spontaneous adventures and playing ukulele.
Jesse Rosechild
Authentications Manager
Jesse grew up in Colorado. She attended Beloit College and graduated with a Bachelor’s in Cognitive Science. Outside of the office, you can find her baking, playing board games, reading, or buying too many houseplants. Jesse connected with Teaching Nomad through a shared belief in helping others get where they’re going.
Lake Philpot
Authentications Specialist
Lake grew up in Arkansas, and he graduated from Texas A&M University – Texarkana with a Bachelor’s in Psychology. After graduation, he served in Peace Corps Mongolia, spent a year teaching English in Korea, and traveled to many other countries. Lake joined Teaching Nomad because he loves helping others with their dreams of going abroad.

Michael Ostrowski
Director of Recruitment
Mike was born in Chicago and will stop at nothing to tell you that Chicago-style pizza is the best pizza in the world. Mike has a background in marketing, as well as experience teaching in China, which inspires him to help other teachers find their dream job. Mike enjoys listening to and playing music, playing various sports, and religiously watch the Chicago Cubs.
Oliver Gorman
Senior Placement Consultant
Oliver was born near Manchester, England and has a 1st class degree in International Business and Chinese with a distinction in spoken Chinese. He has lived full time in Shanghai since 2013 and previously spent time living in Paris. Oliver’s interests include traveling, football (Manchester United), MMA, golf, podcasts, and astronomy.
Jayne Donabie
Senior Placement Consultant
Jayne is from a town just outside London, England, and she has earned both a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree. Her love for people and passion for helping others has drawn her to a career in recruitment at Teaching Nomad. Jayne loves to travel and has spent a lot of time visiting Hong Kong and China. She enjoys charity work and learning Chinese.
Katherine Halicks
Associate Placement Consultant
Katherine was born and raised in Kentucky and has earned a Bachelor’s degree in International Business and French. Before moving to Shanghai, she spent almost 4 years in Chengdu working in both a training school and a primary school. In her spare time, you can find her catching up on the latest TV series, reading books on history, or spending time with her dog.
Mary Zhou
HR
Mary is a Chinese native who comes from a beautiful city – Jiangshan, in Zhejiang Province. She completed her Bachelor’s degree at East China University of Science and Technology. She is an outgoing person, and she is a devoted mum and dog lover. The things she loves most are growing plants, hanging with friends, cycling, and reading.
Flavio Eslava
TEFL Director
Flavio holds a BS in Computer Engineering and a Certificate in Quantitative Finance. After obtaining his CELTA certificate in New York, he discovered his passion for English Education. He has taught in kindergartens, training centers, and companies. Flavio is committed to helping teachers reach their full potential.
Olivia Ghisoni
TEFL Trainer
Olivia holds a Master’s degree in Linguistics from SOAS, London, and is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy UK. Olivia has experience in curriculum design and has been involved in the development and teaching of Teaching Nomad’s TEFL courses since 2018. She is committed to sharing her passion for education with her students and helping them develop their teaching philosophy.”
